Movie Review: Haywire

Movie Review: Haywire

My opinion: 2 of 5 stars
Boyfriend’s opinion: 1 of 5 stars (He fell asleep a few times.)

The fight scenes were badass and the plot wasn’t terrible, but the movie was pretty miserably slow between fight scenes. The movie had an Ocean’s 11 feel to it, but it made the movie seem choppy at times.

The movie had a great cast, which made it even more surprising that the movie wasn’t that great. Aside from the main character, almost every other member of the cast only appeared in the movie for a short period of time. Gina Carano (character: Mallory) was great in the fight scenes, but her acting was lackluster. Channing Tatum (character: Aaron) seemed to just be in the movie for eye candy as usual, but I didn’t complain. Ewan McGregor (character: Kenneth) had the second most important role in the movie, but you still didn’t see him much. Antonio Banderas, Michael Douglas and Michael Fassbender all made appearances, but again, you didn’t see much of them.

Again, the plot to the movie wasn’t terrible, but it was slow at times.

It definitely wasn’t the worst movie I’ve ever seen, but my boyfriend said it was pretty close to his worst. He even picked the movie!

Feel free to share your opinions if you’ve seen it or if you plan to see it! I know others will like the movie, so feel free to disagree with me!

Sidenote: My boyfriend used the “I love you because…” frame this morning! My project was a success!

Enjoy your Wednesday!

About Casey Smith

I graduated from James Madison University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Media Arts and Design with a concentration in Print Journalism and Communication Studies with a concentration in Public Relations. I've always enjoyed writing. I have so many journals laying around that I could probably compile them all into a sappy soap opera for young teens!
